Description
Two pairs of retaining walls and central steps are located 25 yards west of Little Sodbury Manor. These structures date from the early 16th century and have been remodelled and restored. The rubble walls stand between 5 to 8 feet high, with central flights of steps flanked by coped rubble walls. The upper wall supports a terrace, while the lower wall retains a bowling green, which is said to have been used during a visit from Henry VIII. There are return walls at the south ends, extending for 10 yards.
