Description
Furzehatt House is a detached house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with a roughcast front and features steep bitumen-grouted slate roofs that are hipped on the left side. The house has a T-shaped plan that includes a wing at the rear center.
It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range. The windows are original or early to mid-19th century hornless sashes with glazing bars. There is a small lean-to porch to the right of the center, which fronts the doorway and has a latticed overlight; this porch is now fitted with a sash window. The rear wall includes two sets of three-light center-opening casements with glazing bars, and the wing has a 16-pane sash window above a doorway that features a 20th-century door.
The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
