Description

Stentaway House is a fairly large detached house built in the early 19th century. It features incised stucco on some elevations, with slate hanging on the upper floors and dry slate hipped roofs. The house has stuccoed axial and lateral stacks topped with modillion cornices, and cast-iron ogee gutters, some of which have lions' heads. The building has a very irregular double-depth plan and stands two storeys high. The front has four bays, with a projecting wing on the left and a verandah in front of the ground floor of the other bays. Most window openings have original 12-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
