Description

The Seven Stars Public House is a 17th-century building located on the south side of Seven Stars Lane in Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth. It is likely built on a rubble and cob core, now rendered, with a steep dry slate roof featuring a half hip on the right and rendered end and rear stacks. The original plan comprised three rooms and a through-passage, with a wing added to the rear left and later extended further. The two-storey front has an irregular three-window arrangement, featuring 19th-century two- and three-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. A small gabled wooden porch on the left side contains an original studded oak door. The interior contains a 17th or early 18th-century wooden newel stair in the rear left, providing access at the junction between the main house and the wing. The roof structure was not inspected but is likely original and of interest.
