Description
The Nelson Tombs, located approximately 8 meters east of the Church of St Pancras, consist of two chest tombs. The tomb further from the church is dedicated to John Wood Nelson, who lived from 1770 to 1844, while the other tomb is for his eldest son, Henry Nelson, who lived from 1799 to 1875. Both tombs are made of dressed freestone and feature moulded plinths, pilaster corners, and moulded lids. The later tomb has outward tapering sides and a stepped lid. Each tomb is rectangular in shape.
