Description
Widey Lodge Gate Piers, originally located at the entrance to the now-demolished Widey Court, have been relocated to a pedestrian bridge at Manadon Flyover due to road widening. These gate piers date from the early 19th century and are made of rusticated square-on-plan granite ashlar. They feature plinths and moulded cornices, along with shorter terminal piers. The wrought-iron gates have arrow-head finials, a top rail that forms a segmental arch, a lock rail adorned with roundels, and a bottom rail with cross-braced decoration over intersecting round arches.
