Description
This is a planned terrace of six houses located in Stonehouse, Plymouth, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of stucco, with dry slate roofs, projecting front eaves, and stuccoed end stacks. Dormers with hipped roofs are present on numbers 25 and 26. Each house follows a double-depth plan, with a front room on one side and an entrance hall on the other. The entrances are to the left of the terrace, or paired on the left; those on the right have entrance halls on the right. The houses are two storeys high, each with a two-window frontage. Number 27 has sashes with glazing bars, though some have been replaced with later horned sashes. Ground-floor windows are recessed within large segmental arches, with a sill band above the first floor. Number 25 features keyblocks above its ground-floor windows. Numbers 26-30 have pilastered doorways topped with moulded entablatures, and panelled reveals containing original panelled doors. The interior of the houses has not been inspected, but they are likely to contain original features of interest. The terrace forms part of a significant grouping of early 19th-century terraces.
