Description
Powisland House is a small country house built in the early 19th century. It features painted slate hanging and a dry slate hipped roof with projecting eaves and a rendered end stack on the left. The house has a double-depth plan with a service wing at the rear right, parallel to the back. It stands two storeys over a basement and has a symmetrical three-window front. The original windows are hornless sashes with glazing bars, and there is a central doorway with an original flush-panelled door set within an old hip-roofed conservatory that has glazing bars on the windows and a pair of glazed doors.
The interior has not been fully inspected, but it includes an original open-well staircase with an open string and stick balusters. There is also a ceiling cornice in the left-hand room and a panelled door with beaded panels.
