Description

The Administrative Block and two flats at Ham Green Hospital is a country house that has been adapted for use as a hospital administrative building and residential flats. It dates from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations and extensions made around 1800 and in the mid-19th century to the north. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a 'bitumenised' slate hipped roof.

The south block, which is from the early to mid-18th century, has two storeys and attics with 20th-century dormers. It has a moulded cornice and a parapet, with five bays and end pilasters. The windows are glazing bar sash types with segmental heads, set in moulded architraves and cills. The central entrance features a six-panel door within a moulded architrave that has a segmental head, and the doorcase is topped with a segmental pediment on brackets. The east gable end includes a storey bay window.

On the east elevation, the building rises three storeys and has a cellar, with a layout of two, one, and two bays. The central bay is slightly advanced and topped with a panelled parapet above the cornice. The ground floor features a bowed entry supported by Tuscan columns, tall 20th-century casement windows, and a central door, all beneath a balustraded parapet. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows in moulded architraves, complemented by a bracketed cornice. The outer bays are defined by canted bay windows with banded rustication and balustraded parapets, and large pane sash windows with moulded keystones that extend through the plain frieze to the cornice, with a cill band under the second-floor windows.
