Description

The Old Rectory Wing Cottage is a detached house that was formerly a rectory and is now divided into two separate ownerships. The building likely has an early 18th century core, with a wing added around 1790 and further 20th century extensions. The exterior is roughcast, featuring pantiles and slates on the 18th century section, and slates on the late 18th century block, both topped with stone copings.

The central block, dating from around 1790, is three storeys high and has three windows. It features two semi-circular bays on the east front, with two-leaf French windows with marginal glazing on the ground floor and 12-pane sash windows on the upper floors. The central upper windows have round-arched heads, and the bays include blind window recesses. The roof is hipped with brick stacks at the ends.

On the west front, there is a one-storey semi-circular bay with a two-leaf part-glazed door that also has marginal glazing. The 18th century two-storey range has a mix of 20th century windows on the east front and 16 and 12-pane sash windows on the west front, along with a tall rendered ridge stack. To the left, there is a 20th century one-storey extension with a conservatory above, supported by re-used cast iron columns from the 19th century.

Inside, the cottage features several fireplace surrounds with reeded jambs and stopped roundels, as well as raised and fielded panelled shutters.
