Description
The Old School House is a house that possibly dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in 1836 when it was adapted for use by the master of the adjacent village school. There have been further alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of random rubble with a pantiled roof featuring stone ridge and gable stacks. It has an original three-room and cross entry plan and is one and a half storeys tall, with three windows that all have 20th-century glazing. The ground floor includes a four-light casement window, a door, a six-light casement, and a single light casement, all of which have splayed stone heads. Above, there are three small gables, each with a two-light casement and a hood mould. To the right, there is a single-storey addition with a three-light casement and a hipped roof. The left side of the building has a two-light and a three-light casement on the ground floor, and two two-light casements on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
