Description

This is an early to mid-19th century school, now in public use. It is constructed of snecked limestone rubble with stone dressings, quoins, and a plain tiled roof with raised coped verges and finials to the gables. The building follows a T-shaped plan. The central single-storey hall features five two-light casement windows, each with six panes and ovolo-moulded mullions, and hood moulds. A plinth runs along the base. Small gabled porches are located to the left and right, each with a four-centred arched, chamfered doorway and hood mould, and studded doors. The doors are labelled “boys” to the left and “girls” to the right. The left and right returns each have a smaller two-light casement window and door within the porch, along with a two-light casement and an oculus in the gable end. A two-storey gabled wing is located at the rear, and the remainder of the building is not accessible.
