Description

The Woodspring Museum, dated 1912, was originally built as workshops and stores for the Weston Super Mare Gaslight Company. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with freestone dressings, standing two storeys high and featuring sixteen bays. Single-storey projections are located on either side of entrances positioned in bays 3 and 12. A cornice and blocking course run along the top of the building. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows with rusticated surrounds, while ground floor windows are similarly designed with a cornice above. The entrances are pedimented and plastered, with rusticated archways extending through both storeys. A continuous frieze displays the inscriptions "Weston Super Mare Gaslight Company Workshops MCMXII" and "Weston Super Mare Gaslight Company Stores".
