Description

The monument to John Edson is a chest tomb located in the churchyard to the south of St. Andrew's Church in Backwell. It dates back to the late 17th century, with the earliest inscriptions for John Edson from 1689 and for Beakes from 1716. The tomb is constructed of ashlar and features square inscribed panels, enriched pilasters, and a frieze, along with a moulded plinth and cornice.
