Description

The monument to Thomas Keedwell is a chest tomb located in the churchyard to the south of St. Andrew's Church in Backwell. The earliest legible inscription on the tomb indicates that Thomas Keedwell died in 1832. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features square inscribed panels with cusping in the spandrels. The corners of the tomb are chamfered, and it includes foliate decoration, as well as a moulded plinth and cornice.
