Description

The Church of Saint Nicholas, built in 1844, features a nave and west tower designed by J Wilson, with the chancel added in 1892. The church is constructed of ashlar, while the chancel is made of coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings and has a slate roof. The broad three-bay nave includes two-light lancet windows. The tower consists of three stages with set-back buttresses; the upper stage is octagonal and has large detached shafts that culminate in pinnacles. There are single-storey flanking porches on each side. Notable fittings include a font from the 13th and 15th centuries.
