Description

This is a mid-18th century building on West Street. It is constructed of colour-washed brick and stands two storeys high. The building features a modillion eaves cornice and a parapet. The front elevation has five sash windows with glazing bars, set within wide, flush frames, each with a keystone above the first-floor windows. Brick pilasters create quoins and flank the central window, which has a shaped brick head. Remains of brick aprons are visible. A shop front has been inserted on the ground floor.

A mid-18th century two-storey extension projects to the rear, built with chequer brick. It has a pitched roof covered in old tiles and stone slates above the eaves. A hipped roofed extension to the west is distinguished by tall chequer brick stacks. On the east side of this extension, there are two casement windows with glazing bars on the first floor, while the remaining windows are casements also with glazing bars.

The interior includes window seats with moulded surrounds on the first floor.

A rear extension and west-facing hipped roofed section with brick stacks are present.

The building forms a group with numbers 24 to 40 (even) on West Street.
