Description
The Old Manse is a detached house dating from the early 17th century. It features coursed rubble-stone walls and a slate roof that is hipped on the left side, with a stone gable coping on the right. The building has two stacks: one is rendered and located left of centre on the ridge, while the other is a stone stack with a moulded cornice at the right gable. The house is two storeys tall and has approximately five windows, which include 2-, 3-, and 5-light wooden casements fitted with rectangular lead lights from the 20th century. Wooden lintels are positioned above the windows. The front door, located to the right of centre, is a plank door with studs and is sheltered by a 20th-century stone porch that has a pitched slate roof. At the rear, there is a continuous catslide roof. Inside, there is a stone fireplace with splayed reveals, a Tudor-arch head, and jambs that are all straight-chamfered, along with deep chamfered ceiling beams.
