Description
The Buildings is a row of cottages dating from the 18th century, constructed with coursed rubble-stone walls and thatch roofs. The roofs feature a cross-wing at the top and step down halfway along, with a half-hipped design at the north end. There are five brick stacks located at the rear top gable and spaced along the ridge.
The front (east) elevation has two storeys and approximately 15 windows, which are three-light wooden casements. Some of these windows have leaded panes, while others are fitted with horizontal glazing bars. The wooden cills are complemented by segmental brick arch-heads over the ground floor windows, which lack brick jambs. There are five front doors, made of wood and featuring glass lights in the top half, along with three 20th-century porches constructed of wooden weatherboarding.
On the rear elevation, there are three-light casements at the first-floor level, three of which have fixed leaded lights. There are no doorways on this side, which showcases a long expanse of Lias masonry.
