Description

This is a detached farmhouse, now divided into two cottages, situated near Friar Waddon Farm. The building dates back to the 17th century, with 20th-century window replacements and a window from the 16th century that has been reused. The walls are of rubble stone with dressed stone quoins. The roof is thatched, featuring a block ridge and stone gable copings. Brick stacks are positioned at each end gable. The house has one-and-a-half storeys and three windows. The left window is a 2-light wooden casement with glazing bars and a wooden lintel. The central window is a 3-light stone mullion with four-centred heads, which has been reset into the wall. The right window is a 3-light wooden casement with glazing bars and a wooden lintel. Three half-dormers are located above the roofline, each containing a 3-light wooden casement with glazing bars. Modern pentice-roofed outshuts with slate roofs have been added to both ends of the building. Entrances are at the rear. Number 3 has a plank stable door inside a wooden porch, with a thatched outshut above. Number 4 has a 20th-century wooden panel door with glass panels.
