Description

Stour Motors is a house dating from the 16th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is built from coursed, squared rubble and features ashlar quoins. The roof is tiled and has end brick stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. The upper floor includes three 20th-century three-light casements, while the ground floor has a similar window on the right and two 20th-century picture windows on the left. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of centre. Inside, there are heavily moulded ceiling beams and wall plates. According to the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, the original roof, which has five bays with collar and tie beam trusses and mortices for former windbracing, remains in place.
