Description
Lime Tree House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with ashlar dressings and features a hipped, tiled roof that extends over single-storey outshuts on either side of the main range. The house has end brick stacks and is two storeys tall with attics, presenting a five-window range. The windows are 2-light, 20th-century mullioned and transomed steel casements, adorned with moulded stone architraves and keystones. The doorway features an eared architrave, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice, leading to a part-glazed six-panel door. Inside, notable features include a moulded stone arch spanning the hallway, a staircase with cut strings, carved spandrels, turned balusters, and moulded handrails. The front room showcases a moulded stone fireplace surround with an eared architrave and cornice supported by scrolled brackets.
