Description
The former Vicarage, now part of an old people's home, was built in 1883 by E Swinfen Harris. It features coursed rubble walls with brick bonding courses and ashlar dressings. The building has hipped tiled roofs with moulded brick stacks in various locations and showcases an irregular design influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. It is two storeys high and has seven irregularly placed windows. Right of center, there is a projecting porch bay with two stone windows that have mullions and transoms. The doorway is moulded and elliptically headed, featuring a part-glazed double door. In the right-hand corner, there is a diagonally set first-floor oriel window. The other windows are sashes with glazing bars, set under stone lintels with ogee carvings. The ground floor windows in the porch bay have stained glass sun motifs. The 20th-century extensions are not included in the listing.
