Description

Pymore Terrace is a row of twelve cottages, originally built around 1800 for mill workers. The cottages are constructed of coursed lias stone with a slate roof. The roof has gable ends that are stepped, due to the ground sloping between numbers 6 and 7. Red brick stacks rise from the party walls between each cottage. The terrace has two storeys and a twelve-window front, divided into two blocks of six cottages each. The windows are twentieth-century wooden casements, some with glazing bars and some without. Dormers have been added with weatherboarded sides and flat or gabled roofs. The front doors are wooden, at the right side of each cottage, and are either plain plank doors or plank doors with a glass light. Small twentieth-century Bradstone porches are located at numbers 1, 2, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
