Description
Mapledretone House is a mid-18th century house with some early and late 19th century extensions and features, located in Winterborne Zelton, Sturminster Marshall. The building has brick walls laid in Flemish bond, a plinth, and rubbed flat arches with stone keys, along with cambered arches at the rear. The roof is tiled, with stone slates on the lowest courses and hipped dormers. The L-shaped structure has a symmetrical northeast front elevation that is two storeys high with an attic, featuring five windows. The windows are sashes in exposed frames, and the dormers have half-baluster shaped boards projecting at the sides, while there are casements in the angle windows. The entrance is framed by a plain early 19th century porch supported by two slender plain columns and two reeded pilasters, topped with a moulded flat canopy. There are outshots on the northwest side.
