Description
Eastfield is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a private dwelling. It has origins dating back to the 17th century but was rebuilt and extended in the mid-19th century. The building features flint rubble walls that are rendered and painted, topped with a slate roof that has gable ends from the 19th century. There are brick stacks located at the left gable and at the ridge near the center of the building.
The structure is two storeys high and has four windows, which are 2-light casements with glazing bars. There are returned labels above the ground floor windows. The door, located to the left of the center, consists of a 19th-century two-leaf outer door, while the inner door is a flush panelled and glazed design from the 20th century.
Inside, there is a central hall featuring a rebuilt early 19th-century staircase. An open fireplace is located at the left end, with rebuilt brick jambs. There is a mid-chamfered ceiling beam with stepped stops, which may have been reset. The northeast wing at the rear is a later addition from the 19th century, and the floors are made of flagstone.
