Description

Northfield Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century, with some changes made in the 20th century, particularly to the windows. The walls are made of cob and rubble, painted white, and the roof is thatched, featuring a gabled section on the left and a hipped section on the right. There are brick stacks at the left gable and on the ridge to the right of the center. The cottage has two storeys and four windows, which are 2-light wood casements with glazing bars, designed in the original style. The front door is centrally located, made of planks and studded, with one glazed light, and dates from the 20th century. A weatherboarded porch with a thatch canopy covers the entrance.
