Description
South Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, which has been significantly modified in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of rubble, flint, and brick, topped with a hipped thatched roof. The building features brick stacks on the right and in the center. It has one and a half storeys and an irregular arrangement of three windows, which are 2-light casements with glazing bars. There are plank doors located near the center and to the right of the window range, and a weatherboarded extension on the right side.
Inside, the south-east room contains four stop-chamfered beams that rest on a central post, along with a fireplace featuring chamfered stone jambs and an elm bressumer. The north-west room has a similar fireplace and two stop-chamfered beams, while the north-east wall retains part of a cruck-truss.
