Description
Minchington Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is constructed of flint and rubble, with some sections featuring chequerwork flint and rubble, and has ashlar and brick dressings. The building has a thatched roof with end brick stacks and is designed in an L-plan. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. On the ground floor to the right, there is a three-light stone mullioned window, while the upper floor features a similar two-light window. The remaining windows are mainly two and three-light timber casements with glazing bars, some of which are set under flat, gauged brick arches. There are also some blocked openings and a panelled door leading to the rear wing.
Inside, the farmhouse has a through passage flanked by moulded plank and muntin partitions, which is now occupied by a staircase. There is an open fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered and cambered timber bressummer, along with a chamfered beam.
