Description
Nos. 2 and 3 Watery Lane are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They feature colourwashed rubble stone walls, thatched roofs, and brick end stacks. The cottages are one storey with an attic.
No. 2 has a part-glazed door, with the ground floor containing one horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars and one casement window with glazing bars, which is combined with a window from No. 3. The attic includes two half-dormers with horizontally sliding sashes that have glazing bars.
No. 3 has a part-glazed ledged door. Its ground floor features one casement window with glazing bars that is combined with a window from No. 2, and to the right of the door, there is another casement window with glazing bars. The attic also has two half-dormers, but these contain casements with glazing bars. This property is managed by the National Trust and is recorded as a monument by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England.
