Description

Holyrood Farmhouse, likely dating to the mid to late 17th century, is a T-shaped farmhouse with a two-storey, four-window front built of ashlar. A weathered string course runs along the front. Later pointing has been applied to the stonework. The farmhouse features two-light stone mullioned windows with chamfered mullions and frames. The doorway has chamfered jambs and a four-centred head. The roof is now covered with new slates, and there are new brick chimneys. The interior contains an original staircase, which is not currently on site, and decorative mural designs. In 1970, the farmhouse was described as a fine building showing signs of decay.
