Description
St Margaret's is a building that appears to date from the 16th century, though it may have been built at the same time as the nearby chapel. It was altered in the 19th century. The north wall is constructed of ironstone, while the south wall is made of brick and features buttressing. The building has a tiled roof with a brick chimney stack.
On the north elevation, there is a pointed arched doorway and a modern timber window set in a stone surround. To the east of the doorway, there are signs of a large timber window that has since been blocked. The south wall includes a part-glazed ledged door. Additionally, there is one hipped dormer with casement windows featuring lead lights. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed and have a chamfered design.
