Description
The Thatched Cottage is a cottage, possibly originally two cottages, dating from the mid 18th century with 19th century alterations and partial rebuilding. It is constructed from banded flint with brick and rubble, topped by a thatched roof featuring end brick stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and stands one and a half storeys high, with a three-window range. The ground floor openings are under segmental heads and feature casements with glazing bars, consisting of two lights above and three lights below. There is a central part-glazed plank door. Inside, some chamfered beams are exposed. This cottage is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the village.
