Description

The Old Rectory is a detached house that was formerly a rectory, built in the early to mid 19th century. It features brick walls topped with a dentil cornice at the eaves and has a slate roof with gables that have moulded stone copings. The house has brick end stacks, each with two diagonally set shafts and oversailing caps. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. An added glazed conservatory includes a door with bordered glazing, and within the conservatory is a flush panelled door with a plain fanlight. On the ground floor, there are two inserted canted bay windows with sash windows. The first floor has three casement windows with bordered glazing, which are set under gauged brick arches. Similar windows can be found in the return wall of the rear wing.
