Description

The Cotters Pound is a cottage in a terrace, comprising two distinct builds. The left section is an 18th-century cottage, while the right section originally served as the coach-house to number 30. The coach-house was largely rebuilt in 1962 and further extended at the rear in 1962 and 1968.

The left section has walls built of rubble stone and a thatched roof. It is a single storey with an attic. The ground floor features three casement windows with horizontal glazing bars; one replaces a former doorway, which retains a pair of ledged doors. The attic has two dormers, one with a horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars, and the other with two windows: one matching horizontally sliding sash and one casement with glazing bars.

The right section exhibits rubble stone walls and a roof covered in stone slates, with a stone stack at the left end. A ledged door is sheltered beneath a stone pentice. The ground floor has two sash windows with central glazing bars. The attic has two pent-roofed dormers, each with similarly styled sashes.

Inside the left section is a large open fireplace with a timber lintol and a bread oven.
