Description

The Ship Inn Public House, along with numbers 39 and 41, is an 18th-century building on the east side of South Street. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has slate roofs. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and features casement windows and one sash window with glazing bars. Dormer windows are present in the attic. There are two small 18th-century shopfronts, one canted (to the Ship Inn) and one bowed (to number 41), both containing glazing bars. Numbers 37 to 43 (odd) and 43A and 43B form a group.
