Description
This is a farmhouse, possibly dating back to the 17th century, largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. The lower storey of the north-west front is constructed of banded flint and rubble, while the upper storeys are made of banded flint and brick. The south-west front has been rendered and colourwashed. It has gable-ended slate roofs with brick stacks at each end, and a parapet with a plat band.
The south-west front has two storeys and a three-window arrangement with sash windows containing glazing bars. A 20th-century porch with a part-glazed door is present. Attached to the right is a single-storey range built of English garden wall bond brick. The north-west facade extends to three storeys; the ground floor on the left has a 17th-century four-light stone mullioned window with hollow chamfering and leaded lights.
Inside, there are several 17th and 18th-century features, likely reused from elsewhere. These include an early 17th-century overmantel with grotesque, caryatid pilasters flanking two main panels displaying coats of arms, along with moulded borders, a frieze, and a carved cornice. There is also reset 17th and 18th-century panelling and an early 18th-century staircase with moulded handrails and turned, carved balusters.
Two pairs of monolithic, rusticated stone gate piers stand to the south-west.
