Description
Marlborough Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Village Street in Tarrant Gunville. The building is constructed of banded flint and ashlar, topped with a half-hipped roof made of corrugated asbestos sheet and featuring a central brick chimney stack. It has a symmetrical design with two storeys and three bays. The windows are 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars, and those on the ground floor are set beneath stone lintels with keystones. The upper floor has a central blind opening, and there is a central 20th-century door.
Internally, there is a chamfered ceiling beam. Although the farmhouse has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century, it remains a solid structure that could be restored to closely resemble its original external appearance. The building was originally thatched.
