Description

Oak House is a village club, later converted into a private house, built in 1923. It was designed by Ballie Scott for James Ismay. The house is constructed with timber framing, rendered and banded with flint and ashlar, and has a half-hipped tiled roof with stone slatemargins. It follows a cruciform plan and is an example of the Arts and Crafts style. The house is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical arrangement of windows. It features casement windows with leaded lights. A two-storey porch has a panelled door set beneath a four-centred head.
