Description

Blynfield Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1812, as recorded by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments. The building has walls constructed of coursed rubble and a 20th-century interlocking tile roof, with 20th-century brick stacks at the ends. It consists of two parallel ranges arranged symmetrically. The two storeys are divided into three bays. The east-facing facade features 16-pane sashes. A central ribbed door is protected by a radiating fanlight, set above a stone lintel with a keystone. The west-facing facade includes two-light casements with glazing bars. A central doorway has been blocked. An inscription on the north wall notes that the manor of Blynfield formerly belonged to the Grammar School of Bruton, Somerset.
