Description
Saint Francis Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 18th century. It features rubble stone walls, with the front and rear walls plastered. The roof is half-hipped and thatched, with brick stacks at each end. The cottage has two storeys. The entrance includes a ledged door with a glass panel set in a 20th-century glazed porch. On the ground floor, there are two casement windows with horizontal glazing bars, while the first floor has two casement windows with lead lights. At the left end, there is a projecting outbuilding wing that is single-storeyed, made of colourwashed rubble stone, and topped with a tiled roof. Inside, the main ground floor room boasts a four-centred arched stone fireplace. The ground floor rooms also feature 18th-century raised panelling and doors, and there is a simple plank and muntin partition on the first floor.
