Description

Two attached cottages, at 19 and 21 North Street, originally built in the mid-17th century and formerly The Manor Arms Inn. The cottages have walls constructed from lias stone and a slate roof with brick stacks on the left and right-hand gables, which are set on stone bases. The cottages are two storeys high, containing a total of four windows. The windows feature three-light mullions with ovolo detail and separate labels above. A two-story canted bay window is located at the right-hand side of number 21, the front of which contains a three-light mullion window with single side lights, featuring small leaded lights with vertical stanchions. The doorway to number 19 has moulded jambs and a square moulded head, of 17th-century origin, although the wooden door itself is from the 19th century. Number 21 has a more modern, flush-panel door with two top lights and a wooden canopy above. A small, rubble-built outshut is located at the rear.
