Description
This group of eight monuments is located in the churchyard, 2 meters north of the north chancel wall of the Parish Church in Yetminster. It includes two table tombs and six headstones.
The first table tomb is dedicated to Andrew Mayhew, dating from 1625, featuring a flat top and panelled sides. The second table tomb is for Timothy Hewlett, from 1792, which has a weathered top, panelled sides, and reeded angle pilasters.
The six headstones are all similar in style, each with twin shaped tops that feature carved cherub heads and ornamental raised borders. Among them are memorials for Jonathan Elford, 1719; Adam and Elizabeth Warren, 1787; Martha Jenkins, 1770; Edward Hewlett, 1729; Timothy Hewlett, 1716; and one headstone that is illegible.
