Description

The gate piers and wall at the entrance to the Manor House date from the 18th century. They are constructed from rusticated stone and feature a moulded cornice topped with stone grotesque beasts. The rear face of the piers has shell-niches with a roll-surround. Attached to the piers are ashlar stone walls with stepped coping that is roll-moulded on top. The wall extends for 60 yards at a height of 6 feet until it meets the stable block, and continues for 75 yards east of the stables until it reaches the kitchen garden wall.
