Description

South Bestwall House is an early 19th-century detached house, originally built in the Regency style, and later divided into three separate units: Number 1, Number 2, and an Upstairs Flat. The house is constructed of colourwashed brick with a hipped slate roof and a brick end stack. It has an L-shaped plan and includes a basement at the rear. The main entrance features a six-panel door. The ground floor has two sash windows and two pairs of French doors, all featuring glazing bars and shutters. The first floor has four sash windows with glazing bars. An ornamental iron verandah with a concave roof is also present. Inside Unit Number 2, a staircase stands out with a cut string, shaped spandrel brackets, and a wreathed handrail.
