Description
The Clarke and Russell Monuments are two table-tombs located 3 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Peter. They date from the 17th century and are made of stone. The first tomb has plain sides, a straight-chamfered cornice, and a flat top block, commemorating John Clarke, who died on April 4th, 1687, at the age of 70. The second tomb also features plain sides, a straight-chamfered cornice, and a flat top block, dedicated to Nicholas Russell, who died on May 23rd, 1678, and his wife Ann, who died on March 1st, 1724.
