Description

Menagwins Cottage is a house dating to the 18th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble, with a bitumenised slate roof, ridge tiles, and gable ends. A gable end stack features brick shafts. The original plan comprised two rooms, each with its own gable end stack for heating, and a central entrance. Single-storey lean-to additions, dating to the 19th century, extend from the left and right ends of the building.

The exterior presents a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The ground and first floors on either side feature 16-pane sash windows from the 19th century. A late 19th-century four-pane sash window is centrally positioned on the first floor. The ground floor has a central, gabled porch with a 20th-century stable-type door. A single-storey lean-to extends from the right end, containing a two-light casement window. A further single-storey lean-to provides a short front wing on the left, featuring a 20th-century three-light casement window on the inner side, and a blocked window opening facing the front. The interior has not been inspected.
