Description
The terraces located directly to the south-west of Kithill Castle were created around 1880 as part of the amenities for the spa and health resort established by William Dingle. These terraced mounds feature granite rubble retaining walls that extend in a spiral formation. At the summit, there are remains of a circular building with granite rubble walls approximately 1 meter high, which served as a viewing house or tea room for Dingle's spa and health resort. Illustrations from the late 19th and early 20th centuries can be found in the works of Sheila Lightbody and James Venning, and there is also a photograph from the 1920s in the owner's possession.
