Description
The Charlotte Dymond Memorial is a mid-19th century obelisk. It is made of granite, with some parts dressed. The memorial is square in shape and stands on a granite stone base. The lower half of the shaft is rough-hewn, while the upper half is dressed and features an inscription that reads: "THIS MONUMENT is ERECTED by PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION IN MEMORY OF CHARLOTTE DYMOND who was MURDERED here by MATTHEW WEEKES on SUNDAY April 14 1844." At the top, there is a dressed pyramidal capstone.
