Description

Clapperbridge is a clapper bridge located over a tributary of the River Allan in Camelford. It dates from the early 19th century or possibly earlier. The bridge is constructed from stone rubble and granite. It features three spans typical of clapper bridges, with stone rubble piers that have crude cutwaters and large granite monoliths serving as spanning lintels. The bridge is situated adjacent to a ford.
